From a breathtaking homestay overlooking the cliff to a verdant lawn and an A-frame house, you need to book this minimalist yet gorgeous homestay on your next trip to Varkala!
Varkala, aka the pearl of the Arabian Sea, is located on the Western edge of Kerala also known as God’s Own Country. Here’s a fun fact, Varkala is the only town in Kerala that has cliffs and is considered to be a geological feature more commonly known as the Varkala Formation. The cliffs have been declared a national geological monument by the Geological Survey of India for their protection, maintenance, promotion, and enhancement of geo-tourism.
This triangle-shaped homestay is perched on the Varkala Cliff promising uninterrupted views of the Arabian Sea as far as the eyes can see. The home has an ‘A’ frame triangle structure that makes this house even more unique. As you enter, you have two sofas on either side of the walls and a queen-sized bed in the middle. It also has a few coffee tables to keep your stuff on. What is breathtaking is that the door on the corresponding wall is completely made up of glass and you can look at the verdant green glass, water and the sky all day and night long.
The room is pretty spacious and there’s ample room to roam around. For those (like me) who love hotel and homestay bathrooms more, the bathing section will take your breath away. The open-air shower and toilet area are covered with trees and plants that will make you feel like you’re bathing in a mini-forest. The host, Deepak is just a call away and will help you out with all your queries and also suggest great things to do around the property. Think beach hopping to places to eat. The home does not have a kitchen or a kitchenette, but breakfast is included in the package!
