On Wednesday, soon after the Bombay High Court granted conditional bail to Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty, who was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on September 8 in an alleged drugs case that was part of the ongoing investigation into actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, several film fraternity members took to their social media handles to rejoice at her release.
Actress Taapsee Pannu, who has unabashedly and unapologetically shared her opinion in the probe being carried out in late actor Sushant’s death, the ‘unfair’ treatment meted out to Rhea and her ‘vilification’ by the media, took to Twitter and wrote, “Hope her time in jail has sufficed the egos of a lot of people out there who in the name of justice for Sushant fulfilled their personal/professional agendas. Praying she doesn’t become bitter towards the life she has ahead of her. Life is Unfair but At least it’s not over as yet (sic).”

Taking a dig at Sushant’s ‘warriors’, in another tweet Taapsee wrote, “Some time back it was her, tomorrow it will be you but be rest assured the court will give you justice if not the ‘warriors’ #Finally (sic).”

“Finally!!! She gets bail. #RHEACHAKRABORTY (sic),” wrote filmmaker Anubhav Sinha, who too has been quite vocal about his views on the case and the way Rhea has been allegedly made a ‘scapegoat’.

“Everyone owes #RheaChakraborty an apology. And there must be an investigation into people who started these murder conspiracy theories. Shame on you for destroying a girl and her family’s life for your agendas @Tweet2Rhea,” opined actress Huma Qureshi.

Meanwhile, Justice S.V. Kotwal, who had completed the hearing on the bail applications on September 29 and reserved his ruling, pronounced the much-anticipated order this morning.
The Court granted bail of Rs 1 Lakh to Rhea, and for Rs 50,000 each to Dipesh Sawant and Samuel Miranda. However, Justice Kotwal rejected the bail pleas by Showik Chakraborty and Abdul Basit Parihar.
