As we know a debate on nepotism and insider-outsider is going on in Bollywood industry, many stars are openly sharing their experiences regarding the nepotism they have faced in film industry. Actress Swara Bhasker, who was last seen in web series Flesh, has been voicing her opinion on almost every issue through her tweets and posts. When the whole nepotism debate began, Swara also shared her views on the same.
And now, the actress has spoken at length about nepotism in a recent interview with Zoom TV. Swara started by saying that nepotism is a very valid issue and it was first raised by Om puri. Then the actress shared that change is happening in Bollywood.
While speaking about the same, Swara said, “Bollywood is substantially changing from the time where nepotism had a chokehold on it. And that has not happened because of any one individual it has happened because technology has changed, multiplexes have come in, and social media has become a part of our lives.” Swara further added that content-heavy films who don’t have big stars have started doing well.
While candidly speaking about the attacks that have been made against star kids and filmmakers, she said, “It is far more glamorous to blame each other and say isne aisa kiya, aur usne aisa kiya and I am not saying it’s not true. But it is not the only truth. I think it’s very telling when your idea of justice is that of a lynch mob. That anybody who is against you is an enemy. This attitude is very unhelpful.” The actress further stated that no positive change can come from name-calling and hysteria.
