Actor Suriya, on Sunday, took to Twitter to reveal that he has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. He added that he is undergoing treatment for the same in Chennai. Suriya also issued a word of caution to people saying that the Covid-19 pandemic is far from over and urged everyone to be safe and careful. He thanked the doctors and nurses who are treating him.
SURIYA TESTS POSITIVE FOR COVID-19
On Sunday (February 7) night, Suriya, in a tweet, announced that he had contracted the novel coronavirus. Soon, his tweet went viral with wishes from several thousands of fans and Kollywood celebrities. During the lockdown, Suriya created awareness about Covid-19 pandemic through his videos.
Suriya’s tweet in Tamil suggests that he is undergoing treatment. His ardent fans were concerned about his health and well-being. Soon, his best friend and close associate, Rajsekar Pandian, took to Twitter to reveal that Suriya is doing fine and there’s nothing to worry.

He also posted a translation of Suriya’s tweet. The Singam actor wrote, “I am undergoing treatment for Covid-19 and am better now. Let us all realise that life hasn’t returned to normalcy yet. We also cannot be filled with fear and let life come to a standstill. We still need to be careful and safe. Lots of love and gratitude to the dedicated doctors and medical staff standing by my side (sic).”
