Singer Sona Mohapatra has launched an attack on Indian pop singer Badshah after the rapper being accused in the fake followers racket, which is currently being investigated by the Mumbai Crime Branch. Sona, who never shies away from speaking her mind on social media, has reacted to the recent allegations levelled against the rapper.
The Mumbai Police has claimed that rapper Badshah admitted to paying Rs. 72 lakh for additional views on one of his music videos in a bid to shatter the viewership record on social media. Badshah was reportedly quizzed by the Mumbai Crime Branch’s Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) for the same on Saturday. Taking to Twitter on Sunday, Sona slammed Badshah as she called the rapper a ‘buyout’ after Mumbai Police claimed that the rapper paid Rs 72 lakh to fetch 7.2 crores views.
“I’d call it building an empire using matchsticks but the sad part; most do buy into this perception game. The shaadi circuit pays enough to afford these buyouts with their ‘status’ oriented,’live?’music choices…Actors, first to get on to this & of course the Punjabi ‘artists’,” Sona said in a tweet.
Sona’s takes the dig after the Mumbai Police reportedly alleged that the rapper admitted to having bought views on YouTube for Rs. 72 lakh. The investigation in the fake social media followers case kickstarted when singer Bhumi Trivedi found about her fake profile on social media and she complained about the imposters to the Mumbai Police for the same.
