Bollywood actress Sanya Malhotra has already proved herself with her acting skills.Dangal actor will be next seen in the Vidya Balan starrer Shakuntala Devi in the role of her daughter. Recently, In an interview with Spotboye, actress opened up on the ongoing insider-outsider debate and on the topic of nepotism in the film industry.
Sanya stated that she never felt like an outsider because she was featured with Aamir Khan in her very first film Dangal. She has been quoted as saying, “Personally, I never came through a situation where I felt like an outsider. That was also because I started my career with a film like Dangal. It was such a perfect film for a newcomer due to which I never felt I will not get what I want.”
She further added that she was far too ambitious to feel she won’t be able to make it in Bollywood, but she does admit to experiencing depression, “Even when I had no work and I was sitting idle at home in Mumbai, having no money in my bank accounts. At that time also I never felt ki mujhe kaam nahi milega. I was really positive and ambitious in life that the dream I have in my mind I am never going to give up on that. There were periods of depression and sadness where I used to feel that I am not getting work. Should I just pack my bags and go home? But I never gave up on my dreams and I am glad about it,” .
She also stated, nepotism does exist in the industry and that many are grappling with it, “I also know many people who are still struggling. I cannot say that nepotism is not there in the industry it is definitely there in the industry. But its not only restricted to our industry its all over. In this industry, there will be good work when we will not be so dependent on Nepotism,” she concluded.
