The Kannada film industry was recently shocked when actresses Sanjjanaa Galrani and Ragini Dwivedi were arrested by the Central Crime Branch (CCB). The cops recently took them to KC General hospital for a dope test, where Sanjjanaa refused to let her blood sample being taken. Sanjjanna said that she was not informed about the test and said she would not take any such tests till her lawyer informed her. She got into a major altercation with police inspector Puneeth Kumar.
“I am being made a ‘bakra’ by bringing me to hospital, I will not undergo any tests. It is my fundamental right to say no to undergo any test, my lawyer has to tell me about these tests. You have made me bakra by bringing here. There is no evidence against me, why have you brought me here, I want to know the reason. Nobody has got any rights to argue with me, I have not done any mistake, if I had called someone over phone, it is not any fault, so I won’t undergo a test,” said Sanjjanaa Galrani.
However, the cops later procured the court’s permission for her blood sample, after which the actress cooperated with the authorities and medical staff present. Meanwhile Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa opened up on eradicvating the drug menace in the state, and said, “Drug rackets have been working for decades in the State. Our government has decided to clean up the State by bringing everyone behind the drug peddling to the book. Wait for some time, you will come to know the true colours of several people.” Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai added, “We will question whoever is involved. There is no question of protecting anyone or yielding to pressure.”
