In the last year, Pavan Kirpalani’s Bhoot Police was announced with the ensemble cast of Saif Ali Khan, Ali Fazal and Fatima Sana Shaikh. And now it seems that Arjun Kapoor has stepped into the shoes of the Mirzapur actor as he and Saif will turn ghosthunters for this horror-comedy. A source close to the development told Mumbai Mirror, “Arjun and Saif play a pair of ghosthunters in the film. The makers have been working towards getting the right ensemble on board for a while now. The film, produced by Ramesh Taurani and Akshai Puri, will roll by the year-end.”
“The script is very close to his heart and given the adventurous elements in the story, the film requires to be mounted on a certain scale to enhance the thrills and chills along with the laughs,” added the source. Pavan confirmed the news and told the tabloid, “We are excited to bring this spooky adventure-comedy and really happy to have Saif and Arjun join the team as they are a perfect fit for this crazy entertainer. Both of them will be seen in very different avatars and will bring their trademark humour to the script.” Talking about the film, Saif had earlier said, “It is an entertaining film and we are hoping to roll with it towards the year-end.” Director Pavan Kirpalani is known for helming projects like Phobia and Ragini MMS.
Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan will be next seen in Bunty Aur Babli 2 along with Rani Mukerji. The film marks the reunion of the duo after 11 years. Talking about the film, Saif Ali Khan earlier said, “Bunty Aur Babli 2 is a completely rebooted sequel and is set in today’s time. It is a fantastic script that hooked me on instantly. It is an out and out entertainer for the entire family to sit and enjoy and this is what I loved and connected with. Also, it’s a new role for me, new language and milieu and that’s what I really look for in a script. I also love the dynamics between the originals and the new Bunty Babli in the film. It’s fresh, hilarious and extremely engaging. Rani and I have always had a lot of fun working with each other and I’m looking forward to our creative collaboration again. It’s also equally amazing to be back home at YRF again.”
