Actress Rochelle Rao whom we have seen as an anchor on IPL made her debut in the OTT space with 1962: The War in the Hills. The series that aired on Disney Hotstar was based on the Indo-China war. Everyone who has watched the show have liked Rochelle Rao’s performance as Rimpa in the series. She plays an innocent village girl whose life changes due to the war. In an interaction with BollywoodLife, she said, “It was a fun and challenging experience to shoot in Ladakh. Of course, we had a great time around. However, the terrain made it a little tough even for the best of us.”
The show is directed by Mahesh Manjrekar who is known to extract good performances from his cast. “The best thing about him is that he allows you to be spontaneous. There is no stress on extra preparation. Being an actor himself, he knows what is going on in the mind of an actor. He is also very chilled-out. But the weather in Ladakh was kind of fluctuating and there were times he did become like a taskmaster. He ensured that everything was wrapped up on time.” The series stars Abhay Deol and Meiyang Chang in prominent roles.
Rochelle Rao is keen to explore the OTT space. “I did not have to struggle much for this show. They had kind of zeroed down on me. I feel the OTT space is great for actors with the kind of content that is being created,” she said. The lady was last seen on Nach Baliye 9 with husband, Keith Sequeira. A lot of people want to see them together in a project after Bigg Boss 9. “Yes, we did love to work together but we need to get one good project. There are some things in the pipeline,” she concludes.
