Recently, a video of a red panda playing with her puzzle feeder has surfaced on Twitter and it will make you smile for sure. The official account of the National Zoo posted the video on Twitter. In the short clip, a red panda can be seen playing with a puzzle feeder. And guess what? She receives a tasty reward in the end.
Puzzle feeders are objects which hold food and must be solved in different ways to release the morsel.
Red pandas have pseudo thumbs that come in handy for grasping bamboos. In this video, Chris-Anne, the red panda used her wrist bones to solve her favourite puzzle feeder. Also known as an enrichment toy, puzzle feeders are beneficial for the senses of touch, smell and sight of red pandas.
After several attempts, she finally tastes victory. Chris-Anne “chases, spins and twists the feeder until she gets her grapes.” So, all that effort finally made sense.
“Red panda Chris-Anne is playing with one of her favorite puzzle feeders! She has to use some problem solving, brain power and energy to move the treat from the puzzle feeder to her belly. She chases, spins and twists the feeder until she gets her grapes! (sic),” National Zoo said in the caption of the post.
