As we know farmers have been protesting since many days in the country against the governments bill. Many Bollywood celebrities have finally weighed in on the issues after being criticised across several quarters on social media and the media for staying mum, with even some from the Punjab film fraternity and particularly those residing in the state questioning their silence. Among those who have tweeted, showing their unconditional support to our farmers, are Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, Chitrangda Singh, filmmaker Hansal Mehta and singer-composer Vishal Dadlani.

Our farmers are India’s Food Soldiers. Their fears need to be allayed. Their hopes need to be met. As a thriving democracy, we must ensure that this crises is resolved sooner than later. https://t.co/PDOD0AIeFv

Sikh farmers who were served water-cannons and tear-gas, providing drinking water to the very soldiers who attacked them.
The word #Sikh comes from the word for "disciple" but they are teachers of strength, courage, and the true meaning of #Satyagraha. #JaiKisaan https://t.co/1wXvuu41tV
