Bollywood actor Parineeti Chopra urges Zomato on Sunday to find the truth about the assault accusation made against their delivery executive by a Bengaluru woman.
Parineeti Chopra tweeted to Zomato, “Zomato India – PLEASE find and publicly report the truth…If the gentleman is innocent (and I believe he is), PLEASE help us penalise the woman in question. This is inhuman, shameful and heartbreaking…Please let me know how I can help…#ZomatoDeliveryGuy (sic).” Parineeti tweeted the same post twice on her timeline.

Earlier, Parineeti had also posted a video of the delivery executive on her Instagram stories asking Zomato to find the truth. She had posted, “FIND THE TRUTHHH!! If this man has been framed for no reason, the woman who did this NEEDS to pay for his pain! (sic).”
The video was of the delivery executive denying the allegations and saying that it was the woman who first verbally abused him, and then hit him with a “chappal.”
Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal also issued a statement on the incident. In a detailed note, Deepinder Goyal said, “Our topmost priority has been to get to the truth. Towards that, we are helping both Hitesha and Kamaraj (our delivery partner) with all the support they need while the investigation is pending.” He also said that Zomato is covering all medical expenses of the Bengaluru woman while also helping the delivery person with his incomes and legal expenses.
