Oppo Reno 5 series has finally launched in China. The new Reno 5 series includes the Reno 5 and Reno 5 Pro, ditching the long-rumoured Reno 5 Pro+. However, Oppo has launched a special Reno 5 Pro New Year Edition to ring in the new year festivities in China. Alongside, Oppo is also introducing the festival editions of its smartwatch and wireless earbuds, called the Oppo Watch Forbidden City New Jubilee Edition and the Oppo Enco X Forbidden City Fuqi Edition in China. The special editions have red accents all around to make them stand out.
At its launch event, Oppo said that the new camera module on the Reno 5 series phones glows in the dark, accounting for the name ‘Reno Glow”. This is basically how radium films work in the dark. Oppo said it has used the star-drilling process for the crystal designs on the back of the phones. These nanoparticles on the back glass reflect light to create a twinkle effect. The colour options for the Reno 5 Pro are Star River Dreams, Aurora Blue, Moon Nights, and Star Wish Red that is the same as the New Year Edition. The Reno 5 lacks the New Year Edition.
