Ola has cut down its prices up to 45% on its ‘Share your Ola’ services and has also expanded this services to three others cities in India.
Recently Ola announced that they have reduced their fares in all the seven cities where they offer the option of ’Share your Ola’. In cities like Bengaluru and Mumbai the company has chosen to give the maximum reduction, where the prices for ‘Share’ is now just Rs.3 per kilometer. In cities like Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, Hyderabad and Delhi, where ‘Share’ is available, the price would be somewhere around Rs.3 per kilometer as well.
The reduction that is being made by Ola has been announced not long after their competitor Uber cut down rates on ‘Uber Pool’, which offers services similar to Ola Share.

Along with this reduction, the company has also expanded its Ola Share services to three new cities namely Jaipur, Chandigarh and Ahmedabad. With this the number of cities that have the Ola Share service has now become 10. Ola has also announced that the reduction of price will be made effective in these three cities as well.

The CMO of Ola, Raghuvesh Sarup said that the company is constantly trying to improve their services and make travel for both drives and customers more pleasant and hassle free. They are working with an aim of upgrading the experience for the drivers and customers so that moving around the city becomes much easier and safer. The CMO added that with the advancement of technology there are able to optimize their same route share services and they are trying to make sure that their rides are fully occupied.
With the high demands of this service, and the service also being eco-friendly, the company has expanded the share service to three more cities and has also managed to offer Ola Share at such reduced rates. The company has mentioned that with this service they have managed to save around 48 lakh kilograms of carbon emissions in the last few months.
