Karnataka Planning to focus on Golf Tourism


The tourism department of Karnataka has now decided that they will take an initiate and focus on developing the golf tourism of the state. They have planned on offering incentives to the people who invest on developing the golf course.


The development of the golf course and tourism is said to all generate more employment in Karnataka which will lead to the growth of the economy of the state. According to the government in Karnataka, the state is a diverse place and has a lot to offer to the people who come as tourist to the state. There are pilgrimage places, natural beauty, cultural heritage, adventure and also healthcare. Places like Mysore, Coorg, Bangalore, etc. are popular destination for tourist and this year it has witnessed around 10% growth in the tourist arrivals.


Once the golf courses of the State is devolved and made world-class, the place will also be known as the golf destination and pull more people to the state thus effecting he tourist rate. The state wants to organize international golf tournaments in the state which will increase the states tourists’ revenue and also generate employment.


Cities like Bangalore, Hubli, Chikamangalur, Mangalore, and Mysore will have these new and refined golf courses. Initially the focus would be on cities such as Bangalore and Mysore where they plan to link golf courses to the international conference facilities. This would attract more and more international crowd to the state. Also the state will be a golf destination of India and bring all the golf lovers to it.


Along with developing golf in the state, the tourism department of Karnataka has also planned a special themed campaign for promoting Karnataka as a perfect destination for tourist in North India. This campaign is basically a response to the positive feedback that the Karnataka tourism got from states such as Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, and few other states. This has encouraged the state in focusing more on its tourism products, especially golf courses.


The state has also decided to develop and promote other facilities of the State such as Yoga, meditation, medical tourism, etc. This will also come with the developing of the MICE which include Meetings, incentives, and conferencing and exhibitions centers of the state. The tourism department will make efforts in promoting all the conference areas and exhibitions centers of the state so that the tourists are attracted to it and popularize the states events and places. All of these efforts will lead to the economic growth of the state.


Along with all these initiatives the state is also planning on hosting the air balloon festival on the New Year’s Eve from places like Mysore, Hampi and Bidar. All these campaigns and developments are being made so that Karnataka, as a whole can become an all in one tourist attraction and attract more people to the state of Karnataka. The initiatives will make the state popular on an international basis and will make it a desired tourist destination of the country.
