An hour after Deepika Padukone arrived at the Narcotics Control Bureau office, her manager Karishma Prakash was also seen at the NCB SIT headquarters. They are going to be quizzed together in the ongoing Bollywood drug nexus investigation.
Deepika’s name has come up in drug angle in actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. Karishma was called in for probe on Saturday after being grilled for 7 hours on Friday.
According to sources, Karishma, when probed on Friday, told the NCB officials that Deepika was the admin of a WhatsApp chat group related to drugs.
There were only three people in the chat group including Jaya Saha, Karishma Prakash, and Deepika Padukone. The WhatsApp group chat on drugs dates back to 2017. While she confessed to smoking, Karishma denied that she had ever consumed drugs herelf.
Sources reveal that about Deepika, Karishma said that the actress is very health conscious and has never taken drugs.
Karishma has been Deepika’s manager for the last eight years while the former has been associated with KWAN for nine years.
Deepika was reportedly going to be accompanied by actor-husband Ranveer Singh, who was afraid of her ‘anxiety attacks’, but he has not yet arrived at the office. In fact, NCB had also denied the news. “There are questions that whether Ranveer Singh is joining investigation with Deepika. We confirm that we have not received any such request from any summoned person. The last email received from the concerned summoned person is only regarding joining the investigation,” said NCB SIT team’s KPS Malhotra.
