With the common understanding among the journalists during the press meet of Jignesh Mevani the MLA of Gujarat held at Chennai, they boycott the meet and walked away. The Dalit leader and the Gujarat MLA Mevani visited Chennai in order to take part in the closed door interaction with the students, activists and academics of the Qaid-E-Millat international academy.
After involving 2 hours of interaction programs with the academy members, Mr. Jignesh agreed to take part in the media briefing. While things goes smoothly, when the private TV report from the Republic TV place his microphone on the table jignesh asked to remove the mic and he won’t talk or to answer to any of the question.
On responding to the allegation, the reporter of the republic TV quoted that it wasn’t exclusive interview and we just wanted few bytes about Tamil Nadu. However, the legislator refused to accept and demanding the mic of republic TV to be removed.
Meanwhile, the fellow reporter from other TV gets involved into the matter by conveying as “You can’t demand like that sir, if you wish you can give us a talk else if you don’t wish it’s up to you.” As soon as Mevani’s hear those wordings he stayed on his stand to not talk and reports boycotted the meet.
