Bollywood superstar and Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner Shah Rukh Khan did not hold back his emotions on Tuesday as he took to social media to express his disappointment over his team’s 10-run defeat to Mumbai Indians in Indian Premier League 2021 in Chennai.
Kolkata Knight Riders lost a match that was in their grasp for the most part of it. Eoin Morgan’s men imploded as they managed just one boundary in the last 5 overs in chase of 153. KKR were restricted to 142 for 7 in their quota of 20 overs as they slipped to their 11th defeat to Mumbai Indians in their last 12 meetings.
Rahul Chahar picked up 4 wickets for 27 runs, Kirunal Pandya gave away just 13 runs for 1 wicket and Trent Boult picked up 2 wickets in the final over as Mumbai Indians came up with high-quality death bowling. KKR went from 104 for 3 to 142 for 7 in a span of 7 overs even as their fans watched on with a bit of shock.
“Disappointing performance. to say the least @KKRiders apologies to all the fans!” Shah Rukh Khan wrote on social media.

Kolkata Knight Riders were given a strong start by Nitish Rana and Shubman Gill as the duo added 72-run opening stand, taking the attack to Mumbai Indians new-ball attack. However, Rahul Chahar ran through the line-up, picking up the wickets of Gill and Rahul Tripathi in quick succession.
