Mumbai cricketer Arjun Tendulkar, the last player to go under hammer in IPL 2021 auction, was bought by 5-time champions Mumbai Indians at his base price of Rs 20 lakh.
Arjun, the son of legendary Sachin Tendulkar, has been earlier seen in the net sessions of the team. He was in UAE with the squad during the 13th edition of the IPL as well.
Arjun Tendulkar made his senior debut for Mumbai in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021 during recently-concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He leaked 34 runs for 1 wicket and did not get to face any ball after coming in to bat at 11th position.

Arjun had been playing for Mumbai at the U-19 level and other age-group competitions. He was part of the Mumbai T20 league which was played in 2019.
Arjun Tendulkar has earlier represented Mumbai Under-19 and India Under-19. He was first picked for India U-19 in June 2018 for two four-day matches in Sri Lanka. He has been seen bowling in the Mumbai Indians and India nets on several occasions.
On February 14, Arjun Tendulkar has drawn the attention of IPL franchises by slamming an unbeaten 77 off just 31 balls for MIG Cricket Club in 73rd Police Invitation Shield tournament on Sunday.
The 21-year-old’s blazing innings was studded with 8 sixes, out of which 5 came in an over from Islam Gymkhana off-spinner Hashir Dafeda. Arjun also hit 5 fours during his innings.
Arjun shone with the ball as well and took 3 wickets for 41 runs as MIG won the match by massive 194-run margin.
