The IPL header between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians is called the El Classico of cricket. While the rivalry between the two most successful IPL teams marks the beginning of the 2020 edition, at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, KKR will play their first game on September 23 against the Mumbai Indians at the same venue.
Earlier on Saturday, Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar too extended his wishes to the defending champions Mumbai Indians- his former IPL team. Tendulkar had pointed out that the rivalry between MS Dhoni’s CSK and Rohit Sharma’s MI is one of the biggest reasons behind IPL’s success.
“For any tournament to succeed you need rivalries. Mumbai Indians, as well as Chennai Super Kings, have a very very strong fan base. Both are extremely competitive,” Tendulkar had said.
