Mandeep Singh, thus, opened for the first time in IPL 2020 with captain KL Rahul. It was an emotional game for the 28-year-old top-order batsman who recently lost his father. The KXIP team were thus wearing black armbands during the clash against SRH.

Mandeep Singh got a promotion and opened for Punjab for the first time in IPL 2020. However, he could only manage a 14-ball 17 in KXIP’s total of 126/7. Kings XI Punjab, however, went on to win a thriller of a game, by a margin of 12 runs, against Sunrisers Hyderabad after an exhilarating show from the death bowlers.
