Indian Travelers offered easier Entry into US

India and the United States have signed a memorandum of understating (MoU) which will aim at providing hassle-free entry of Indians at some of the selected airports of United States.

The MoU was signed between the Indian Ambassador to the US, Arun K. Singh, and Kevin K. McAleenan, deputy commissioner of US Customs & Border Protection. India is the ninth country to have signed such a memorandum. The memorandum was signed under the program of International Expedited Traveler Initiative, which is also referred to as Global Entry Program. The program reflective of the growing relationship between the two largest democracies of the world.

The initiative will take few months before it can be implemented, as said by the US Customs and Border Protection department. Under this understanding the Indian travelers will be provided with speedy security checks and clearance. This will be applicable for pre-approved and low-risk Indian travelers only. There will be automatic kiosks that will be put up in the chosen US airports for the easy check outs.

The aim of the behind taking this step for the both the countries is to strength their bonding and also to provide ease to the travelers who fly to and fro the two countries. This initiative will ease the travelling environment and create positivity among the travelers of both the countries.

The Prime Minister of India, NarendraModi is always looking forward to strengthening the bond and building a bilateral relationship between the two countries. There have been many initiatives taken by the government of India for easing travel from the United States to India, which includes issuance of long-term visas and introduction of electronic-tourist visas for U.S. citizens. Now the MoU will make the travel from India to US easy and hassle free.

The program is available at more than 40 U.S. airports and 12 pre-clearance locations. More than 1.8 million people are enrolled in the program and there are many more people who have applied for it. It will surely make the travel for regular travelers such as professionals, businesspersons, tourists and students more easy and comfortable. Also US has more than 3 million Indians living there, it will make travel easy for them as well.
