Indian Railways has launched the Tiger Express which is a luxury train which is aimed at the spreading awareness among the people. The Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu flagged off train from the Safdarjung station of Delhi.
The Tiger Express is the first semi-luxury train for the tourists which will have a dining car. It is a specially designed train which will provide luxury travel to people and will also promote the concept of tiger conservation, thus the name of the train being Tiger Express.

Tigers form the apex of the food chain and so they are very important to the ecosystem. Buy there have been a notable decline in the number of tigers present. For this purpose the train has been named Tiger Express and will focus on the subject of tiger conservation.
The train will be operated by the Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), which will have travel or holiday package starting from Rs.38500. the packages planed by the IRCTC will mainly include air conditioned accommodation in 3 star or similar hotels for three nights. The package will also include food, sightseeing, inter-city transfers and also travel insurance for the tourists.

A travel for five night and six days will take travelers from Kanti from where they can go for a road trip to Bandhavgarh for a safari. And from Bandhavharh the tourists will be taken to Kanha for another safari. The other destinations under this package would include places like famous Dhuadhar Falls in Bhedaghar, Jabalpur, and then back to Delhi.
With this train being launched, the IRRCTC will be looking forwards in launching more such tourists’ specific trains for elephant and desert tourism. The regular monthly trips of the fully air conditioned train which are vinyl-wrapped with motifs of the wildlife, are scheduled to begin from the month of October this year.
The whole package and the itinerary has been planned in such a way that the travelers or the tourists enjoy the travel with all the comfort and also spend some quality time in the midst of nature. The other trains for different destinations will be launched soon.
