The vaccination centre is located at Terminal-1 of Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. The centre aims to inoculate more than 60,000 employees, including airline staff, cargo staff, ground handling staff, air traffic control staff, and others.
The vaccination centre is open to all staff aged 18 and above. Staff members who’ve not yet received their jabs will need to register themselves on the Cowin website, after which they can visit the centre to get a shot. The centre will administer the Covishield vaccine between 10:00 am to 05:00 pm.
According to the report in The Indian Express, Delhi International Airport Ltd.’s CEO Videh Kumar Jaipuriar said, “We are launching the vaccination drive for these COVID warriors who are part of the airport’s ecosystem to save them from this dreaded virus. We hope this will help in protecting them and their families from this pandemic.”
The Delhi Airport vaccination centre will have all the necessary facilities like every other vaccination centre. Registration desk, waiting lounge, post-vaccination observation lounge, emergency ambulance, and doctors will be available at the centre.
Jaipuriar also stated, “Delhi Airport and its staff have been on the forefront ever since the outbreak of the pandemic. All airport staff, including that of stakeholders, worked round-the-clock to ensure the airport remains operational. They provided much-needed support to the country and the countrymen during the lockdown.”
