Bollywood celebrities despite the pandemic and restrictions, is making the most of Diwali. Jasmin Bhasin is celebrating the festival of lights by taking a much-needed holiday. The actress is travelling out of the country for Diwali, as she revealed in an exclusive chat with PeepingMoon. “It will be a cheat day for me and I am going to eat everything without thinking,” she added.
Jasmin, who has a large circle of friends, would host Diwali parties before the COVID-19 pandemic broke out. Now, the actress is missing them. “Yes, I have hosted some parties on Diwali before COVID hit us. I loved to plan the theme, get the decorations done and get all kinds of sweets. I miss hosting them now because apart from the celebration as a host you interact with everyone and you get to know what’s going on in the lives of people around you because normally people are so busy in their lives that it’s difficult to have a one-to-one conversation with everyone, so my Diwali parties would make up for all the lost times,” she shared.
The actress, who spent Diwali in childhood with crackers and sweets, said, “As I grew up I realised crackers are not just bad for the environment but the elderly at home and even pets and stray animals. Since then it has always been a cracker-free Diwali, and I even ask my friends and family too to go cracker-free, because the smoke stays for many days after Diwali and not to forget the noise pollution they create.”
Jasmin requested her fans to opt for local handmade diyas this Diwali. “Eco-friendly Diwali is the need of the hour because firstly we are not over COVID yet, so let’s keep the environment as healthy as we can for us to breathe clean and fresh air. Secondly, I request everyone to go local and buy handmade diyas, this will make the Diwalis of those local artisans happy,” Jasmin shared.
