Delhi has seen a highest of 6,842 new confirmed corona cases. The national capital also recorded another 5,797 recoveries and 51 more Covid-related deaths on November 4.
According to the Delhi government’s health department, the national capital tested 58,910 samples for coronavirus in the last 24 hours. This includes 14,574 RT-PCR tests and 44,336 rapid antigen tests. Delhi has conducted a total of 48,80,433 tests for Covid-19 to date.
The infection rate, as per the latest data, stands at 11.61 per cent while Delhi’s recovery rate now stands at 89.24 per cent. On the other hand, the Covid-19 death rate in Delhi is 1.64 per cent.
With the latest developments, the national capital’s tally of confirmed Covid-19 cases has risen to 4,09,938. This is inclusive of 3,65,866 recoveries and 6,703 casualties to date.
There are now 37,369 active cases of infection in Delhi.
As many as 22,248 patients in Delhi are currently in home isolation. The Delhi government has notified 3,596 areas as Covid-19 containment zones.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, “Delhi has witnessed a jump in the number of Covid-19 cases. I think we can call it a third wave…we have been monitoring the situation continuously and there is no need to panic. We will take whatever steps are needed.”
Earlier on Wednesday morning, Delhi reported a spike of 3,067 new cases of Covid-19 along with another 3,610 recoveries and 48 more virus-related deaths.
As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s Covid-19 dashboard, India had 5,33,787 active cases of infection while a total of 76,56,478 patients have been discharged after recovering from Covid-19 and 1,23,611 have succumbed to it across the country.
