Bigg Boss 14 contestant Devoleena Bhattacharjee has impressed everyone with her performance in the house. Actress cried a river in front of Salman Khan while talking about facing challenges as a child after losing her father at an early age. On the occassion of Women’s Day, Devoleena has now opened up about growing up in a family of women and how her mother and nani used day and night to make ends meet.
“I lost my father at an early age and the society did not treat my family in a good way. It was my mother and her mom (nani) faced the evils of the society due to the lack of a father-figure at my home. They are those beautiful women in my life who taught me to take up challenges and live with it. I remember my mother used to work for us despite being ill. She wanted to give us all what a father does for his kids. She stood like a rock to protect us. I have seen her fighting for us. She is playing both a mother, and a father for us,” Devoleena said.
The Saath Nibhana Saathiya actress feels women are the most important and beautiful part of the society. “I feel the central role of women in society has ensured the stability, progress and long-term development. I come from Assam, and there, I have seen how labour work done by men is almost equal to women. Like in a tea garden, women play a major role- from taking care of tea plants to plucking tea leaves,” she said.
She continued, “I feel, even my two of the shows Saathiya and Sawaare Sabke Sapne Preeto, set a good example that women can do everything and are important part of society. They are in no way less. And I’m lucky to be part of such shows. In coming time, I wish to act in historical woman’s biography.”
