The Congress Party kick-started its campaign for the upcoming house elections of the nation from Rajasthan, where it recently established its government after a landslide victory. The campaign started from the districts of Sikar and Tonk.
The campaign started off with Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s public meeting at the Laxmangarh town of Sikar District. He slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party and PM Narendra Modi that he had lowered the dignity of the Prime Minister’s office by his conduct. He also slammed the central government and the BJP for branding people who question the government and its policies and seeking answers to important issues which directly affect the common man as ‘anti-national’. In his speech, he said that if PM Modi elected to power again, there is a danger that democracy in the country would not survive. He also said that conduction of elections in the future would also become doubtful if he comes to power implying to the dictator like the ruling of PM Modi.
The Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot and All India Congress Committee general secretary Avinash Pande were also present at the rallies along with the CM Gehlot which held at Laxmangarh and later in Niwai town. He also alleged that the Prime Minister has been ‘exposed’ in the deal with Rafale fighter planes and claimed that he had miserably failed in keeping with his 2014 election promises.
He also claimed that the air strikes have not changed the mood of the nation to favour Mr.Modi, but rather Rastriya Swayam sevak Sangh (RSS) is making false propaganda in that matter. He also cried foul that the BJP and RSS together are making a political mileage of the valour of the Armed Forces.
In the public meeting held at Niwai, Mr.Gehlot also brought to the notice of the public about all the schemes that their government had implemented since elected to power 3 months ago. He highlighted major decisions of his government which included farm loan waiver, the release of unemployment allowance and restarting of his previous regime’s scheme for free medicines and diagnostic tests to people.
