The release date of Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor-starrer Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui has been announced. The film, which went on floors in October last year, is set to open in theatres on July 9, 2021.
The Befikre star took to social media to share the news with her followers. Her post read, “Sugar, spice, and everything nice. Get ready to fall in love #ChandigarhKareAashiqui is all set for a theatrical release on 9th July 2021 (sic).”
Abhishek Kapoor, who directed the Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan-starrer Kedarnath, is helming the project.
Producers Bhushan Kumar and Pragya Kapoor have come together to produce the modern-day love story, which is set in Chandigarh.

Ayushmann Khurrana, who reportedly plays a cross-functional athlete in the much-awaited flick, will be seen sharing the screen space with Vaani Kapoor for the first time.
Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui was one of the first few mainstream Indian films, apart from Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom, to have finished filming in two months during the time of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
After wrapping up the shoot of the film in December last year, Ayushmann had penned a heartfelt note and shared it on his official Instagram profile. The caption read, “Today, I feel immensely proud that our film is the first one in India to finish shooting an entire film while battling the coronavirus (sic).”
Crediting his director and producer, Ayushmann added, “I have to credit my director and producer Abhishek Kapoor and Pragya Kapoor for manning the resources so diligently and so effectively. It feels amazing that we managed this feat in my hometown Chandigarh – couldn’t be prouder!!! Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui is a very special film for me and I can’t wait to share it with the world in cinemas next year (sic).”
The cast and crew had begun shooting for Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui in October last year and had finished shooting for the same by December.
The Abhishek Kapoor directorial venture had been making waves ever since it was announced. The film, which is co-produced by T-Series and Guy in the Sky Pictures, will finally hit the cinemas on July 9 this year.
