Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who committed suicide last Sunday i.e. on June 14, 2020, has received lot of appreciation for his role as MS Dhoni in Neeraj Pandey’s film ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’. However, do you know that Akshay Kumar originally wanted to play the lead role in the film?
When Neeraj Pandey was asked about casting Akshay Kumar for ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ instead of Sushant Singh Rajput, he told IANS, “It was not possible for Akshay to play a 16-17-year-old teenager in the movie as Dhoni’s younger version. So I didn’t cast him as MS Dhoni.”
According to reports, Akshay Kumar was keen on working with his ‘Baby’ director again for ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’. However, things did not unfold as expected back then. Akshay then went on to work on ‘Rustom’ and ‘Naam Shabana’ with Neeraj Pandey. The duo was even going to work on a movie called ‘Crack’, but the film is reportedly on the backburner.
Like people had noticed, Neeraj Pandey also mentioned that Sushant had picked up Dhoni’s body language just right.
