A road trip to Ladakh : Srinagar to Leh Ladakh


1. Dras Valley

Dras Valley is known as the ‘Gateway to Ladakh’ which is an ideal trekking region that begins by climbing up from this valley. It is located in the Kargil district of Jammu and Kashmir and runs along the Dras River. The Pugu Valley also lies close by. Brigade War galley is also located just 3km away from the Dras Valley.

2. Kargil Memorial

This place definitely deserves a stop for the respect of real heroes of India. The memorial is a tribute to the selfless sacrifice made by the soldiers in the Kargil War. There is a detailed report of the war along with the martyrs names during the war battle is displayed for visitor’s knowledge. It is considered as the India’s glorious victory pride. 

3. Pathar Sahib Gurudwara

It was built during the 15th century to respect the visit of Guru Nanak that since stands as the symbol of love, peace and respect. It is around 25miles away from Leh that consist of a huge and beautiful Diwan Hall and a Darbar Hall. The whole place has been managed by the Indian army.

4. Lamayuru Monastery

It is one of the oldest and the largest monasteries in Leh which is also called as the ‘Place of Freedom’. It is home for the Red Hat Buddhist which is consider as a peaceful place that will calm one’s mind. It stores Buddhist scriptures, paints, statues and monuments. The huge assembly hall and the residential buildings showcase the daily lives of the monks living there. Many followers and tourists visit this place throughout the year for a relaxing mind.

5. Moonland

The Moonland is one of the most beautiful parts of Jammu and Kashmir that will surely give you the lovely feel of heaven. The amazing valleys and terrains make it a picture perfect place. Hence it attracts many tourists from worldwide.
