Initially slated for a release on 23rd May, 2017 in China, Xiaomi has officially announced that it would launch its new Mi Max 2 on the 25th of May, 2017 on its Weibo handle. Its screen size would be 6.4” with a 1080*1920 pixels resolution and is expected to come in two variants. One variant will have 4GB RAM and internal storage area of 64 GB and will be packed by Snapdragon 626 SOC whereas the other variant will be featured with Snapdragon 660 SOC, 68 GB RAM and an internal storage of 128 GB. The Mi Max 2’s camera will feature a Sony IMX378 sensor with comparatively large aperture of f/2.2 and 12 MP rear camera and a 5MP front facing camera. The device is expected to run on MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. It contains a finger-print sensor below the rear camera and has the USB Type-C for charging and syncing data at the base along with a headphone jack and IR blaster on the top and has a 5000mAh battery unit which is bigger than the 4850mAh unit featured on the Mi Max.
