Japan based telecom company, DOCOMO, has set up a new global business operation called Docomo Digital and it will be led by Rakshit Kapoor in India. Docomo Digital will be NTT Docomo’s mobile commerce, content and consultancy company.

Rakshit Kapoor was previously the head of Buongiorno which was a subsidiary company owned by NTT Docomo. He was the head of Buongiorno for the past four years in India. And before that he was the content head at Idea Cellular.
Docomo Digital will provide infrastructure and tools to the companies who have business in mobile commerce and mobile payment services. Docomo Digital will provide direct billing solutions, mobile wallet services, technical support and other financial services. The company will also offer consultancy services for the different mobile commerce companies.

Reports say that Docomo Digital has created a useful set of products and services. It has used the expertise of NTT Docomo and the other companies which NTT has acquired. With the help of the parent company and Buongiorno, Docomo Digital aims on providing advanced mobile commerce enabling platform. Rakshit Kapoor will take care of all the operations of the company in India.
Docomo Digital is not NTT’s first entry in the Indian market. Tata Docomo, telecom operator in India, is operated by Tata Sons and NTT Docomo. In the year 2008 NTT Docomo entered India.
Docomo Digital aims at providing a safe platform to the users and fair platform to the operators and merchants. The company has joined with different banks and merchants so as to ensure that people get the kind of services that they need. The company has already started to partner with a lot of companies and is trying out various projects with different retailers, content providers and social media platforms. The company would like to contribute to the digital economy and make it efficient and stronger universally.
