6Degree, a fashion talent and tech platform, hosted their very first mentoring program in association with the Lakme Fashion Week (LFW). This mentoring program was conducted to choose the best three designers who will showcase their work at the upcoming winter-festive edition of the Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai.

The mentoring program was called the #GetLFWReady and was held for two days. In this program the aspiring and emerging designers got mentoring from the veterans of the industry including Neeraj Gaba, Yogesh Chaudhury, Amit Khanna, Urvashi Joneja, Ajay Kumar, Feroza Dalal and Gautam Vazirani. The program was a mixture of photography, styling, designing, image building, and retailing and merchandising of the products. In the workshop the veterans of the industry gave valuable advice, tips and guidance to the emerging designers for showcasing collections in the upcoming Lakme Fashion Week. The mentoring program was held on July 25th and July 26th.

Nine emerging designers participated in the mentoring program and out of these; three best designers would be selected to showcase their designs on the runway at the 6Degree Show at Lakme Fashion Week.

In the program that was help over two days, the nine emerging designers presented their collection in front of the mentors and other veterans of the industry who were present at the program. The names of the designers who are chosen for the LFW will be announced in the first week of August.

The CEO of the 6Degree said that they are focused and take pride in recognizing new and aspiring designers. Their focus is on designers who do good quality work and to encourage talented designers from the smaller cities.

This program conducted by 6Degree is a first of its kind which is very helpful for the emerging designers. It helps the new designers in getting valuable mentoring and also an opportunity for participating in such a big platform.
