The valley of desolation is one of the main attractions of the park which worth for a stop to relax during the journey. This breathtaking landscape has been declared as a National Monument of geological significance in 1939. The valley is said to be a result of erosive and volcanic forces of nature over several years. It is one of the best places for wildlife viewing that attracts several tourists each year.
2. The Owl House

While driving through the Eastern Cape you will come across a collection of little different but amazing artistic work by late Helen Martins. This inspiring house of Helen now stands as a historical museum that has human figures, owls, camels made out of glass bottles and cement. The house has been decorated using mirrors, wireworks, and different combination of colors. One will be left speechless and amazed by this display of emotions by Helen. Activities such as horse riding and craft shopping can also be done in this place which is just off the main road in the Karoo town of Nieu – Bethesda.
3. The Big Hole in Kimberly

This being the largest hole excavate by man surely deserves a stop while your drive way to Cape Town. It was created during the diamond mining process. After mining was closed this area was turned into a museum and it attracts tourists from across the globe. Apart from this big hole the museum displays some real diamonds and a reconstructed 19th century village that’s portrays the old mining days.
